Through a partnership agreement, the Coffeyville School District and Boys & Girls Club of America have created an outstanding after-school program that is under the direction of Chief Professional Officer (CPO) Griffin Walker. The role of the CPO is to make sure the operations of after- school programming is gratifying the needs and obligations of the youth of Coffeyville. Our focus at the Boys & Girls Club of Southeast Kansas is to provide a safe place for the youth three hours per day, five days per week everyday after school. The CPO position requires a team orientated focus, servant leadership, as well as understanding the importance of seeking funds for special projects for the youth of Coffeyville and surrounding area. Mr. Walker understands that childcare and the improvement of services is a tremendous need in Montgomery County and hopes the Boys & Girls Club of Southeast Kansas will fulfill the need and obligations in our city as well as county, one day.

Griffin brings several years of experience in working with school age Coffeyville youth. He gained the skills and knowledge through time he spent working at the University of New Hampshire as a college student and four years as the Executive Director of the Community School Connection Program of USD 445. Mr. Walker is dedicated to helping youth succeed to their highest potential. During his professional tenure with Four County Mental Health and Coffeyville Unified School District he has come to understand that when children are put first in beneficial after-school programs, they have a running leap in becoming the front line in tomorrow’s workforce.

Griffin stated that his goal is to develop a safe, consistent, and sufficient after- school program to help the families of the Coffeyville community.
